A new video work, part documentation and part scripted scenes, filmed over the seven days of the Dit is Mijn Delft project. The video uses both amateur and professional artists to tell the story of the amateur artist and their relationship to their city.
The week filming of DIMD will include opening events, four days of workshops from different professionals and a ‘scripted’ day where amateur and professionals work together to film scenes based on the personal stories collected through out the week and historical events from Delft’s cultural history.
The video aims to create an image of (recent) Delft cultural history, by looking at the present state of amateur art in Delft, its history and the personal stories that it contains. By using Delft as a specific context the video aims on a larger scale to investigate the status of amateur art as comparative description and the qualities of which it consists.
